Who Am I? What have I done and What am I doing?

by Dave on July 16, 2009

in General

Well, I’m excited to make my first post on my new blog. I’ve decided to start afresh, and it feels good!:)

Who Am I?

Obviously, my name is David Chamberlain! I am 21 years old, and I work as a full time trainee accountant in Preston, United Kingdom. I do enjoy my job, but my main ambition in life is to work for myself. I didn’t know at what point in my life this would happen, it has just been an ambition of mine, and it looks like I’m realising that ambition now!

I class myself as a people person, I love meeting new people and helping as much as I can. I like to make myself as accessible as possible, so if you need anything just let me know!

My strengths are my drive and ambition. I also have a talent for spotting good opportunities, as well as generating new business ideas. I have a notebook where I write down all my ideas (It’s gonna be worth millions one day)! ;-)

My weaknesses are that I am disorganised and definately the technical aspects of Internet Marketing (although I know I can outsource this side). I sure I have plenty more weaknesses, and they will crop up from time to time. I will be finding ways to overcome these weaknesses and maybe even turn them into strengths, and I’ll let you know when I do!

What Have I Done

My journey to Internet Marketing is pretty simple. I was talking to a friend one day about making extra cash, this got me thinking about using the internet…so I googled ‘making money online’. Stupid eh?!!

I was amazed at the sheer volume of programs, all making hyped up promises. I’m pretty level headed and most of all a realist, so I didn’t buy into it all.

I joined the Warrior Forum. This is where it all started for me…I suggest you join if your not a member already! I’ve met some really cool people on there, and found so much information.

I got my first website on 17th February 2009. This is now dead! It was a starter site, I learned the basics and then realised it wasn’t the way I wanted to go. Since then, I have promoted affiliate products using article marketing, Yahoo Answers and built a list of around 300 subscribers and made around $3,000. In all, it’s not too bad, but I want to improve on it going forward.

What Am I Doing

This new Blog came about as I have just signed up for Alex Jeffreys Coaching Program. This guy is amazing and has really given me the motivation I need to  push on with my ideas. He’s also got me organised, which is a big achievement! I’m sat at a tidy desk, with all my  notes organised. A plan on the wall in front of me and a few quotes to keep me motivated dotted around.

I am currently working with a partner on a new marketplace for buying and selling websites. The site is www.sitedeal.org and we intend to build a site that will rival Flippa and have really focused on the user.

I am just starting out with an eBay business after being coached by one of Alex Jeffreys previous students Dan Briffa. This involves researching markets, sourcing products (mainly from China), rebranding them and selling for a profit! There is lots more invoved, but they are the bare bones!

I also have an eBook called Yahoo Answers Cash which is more or less ready for release. It documents the tactics I use to leverage Yahoo Answers in my online business. This is really the thing that made me my first $1 online, so hopefully, I can help other people do that.

Anyway, this is just a short introduction. I’ll be posting regularly and will be telling you what i am doing in my business and how I do it, what works and what does’nt.

I could go on and on, but I won’t bore you…yet!;-)

Thanks for reading, I’m pretty excited about the future, and hope you will come along for the ride!

Great first post! I think people will really love to see how you made what you have made online. Most people never make a single penny. So to be able to tell people that you’ve made $3,000 in five months! That’s something that people are going to want to read about!

I’m so excited about this Alex Jeffreys coaching program! It’s been great getting to know everyone and I really think we are all going to learn a lot.

Hey Matt.

I’ll talk about things I have done in the past, I’ve picked up some good stuff. My main problem is that the stuff I did was just unstructured. I didn’t brand myself and it’s no way to build an online business. There are some quick ways to make cash…but ultimately I’d like to take people on my journey to building a successful business. So I don’t know whether to leave what I have done in the past and start out again, wipe the slate clean maybe? Most of the cash I have made I have reinvested in coaching and stuff, so my lifestyle hasn’t yet changed!

Thanks for the comment!

David, as Matt has said, that’s a great first post – it sounds like you’re really busy already. I hope that you’ll be wildly successful.

Here’s a secret: I used to be a trainee accountant too ! A long, l-o-n-g time ago … LOL. But I changed horses in mid-stream and ended up spending 20+ years as an IT techie, so who knows, you may end up learning to love the techie stuff ;-)

All the best,

Roger

David,

Great site and great first entry. I know exactly what you mean by wiping the slate clean. I’ve tried this a few times and wiped the slate clean…for a year or two. This time, I’ve got a partner and we’re doing the same things with doing a video log of our successes and failures so that people can learn with us if they want.

Anyway, good start man, keep it going and we’ll all cheer each other on and then all meet up one of these days after we’ve made it!
Later,
Justin

Hi David,

Hey, Great blog and Post, very nice :-)

It’s great when you get to read about what everyone does for a living (for how much longer? ) and what they have been doing online too.

Be great to catch up and have a chat soon David, sure there are many ideas to bounce around, but looks like you got enough to be going with :)

Talk soon!

Cheers

Sean

Hi Dave,

I’m a fellow student of yours from the Alex Jeffreys’ coaching program. You’ve got a really neat place here!
I’d like to ask you: how did you get your header done? It’s very clean and nice looking, I would like to have something like that for my site.

Cheers,
Jose
