Internet marketing has a pretty steep learning curve. There is so much to learn… how to create a website, how to FTP, how to write articles, how to do PPC, how to add pictures and graphics, and on and on. You can and will learn all these things, but there are three components you really need to learn about for your internet marketing business to succeed. Without all three of these, you won’t be as successful as you could be. You might make sales, but not near the number you could be making.

1. You have to be trustworthy.

If your website screams “Buy, buy, buy!” and you don’t give them good content and show that you know what you’re talking about, they probably won’t trust you or buy from you. If your site is one big walking, talking ad with the maximum number of AdSense ads, promotion pitch after promotion pitch, and banners stuck all over the place, potential customers are going to run the other way. They need to trust you before they offer you their credit card info. Take a look at your site through the customer’s eyes and see what they see. Pull back on the AdSense, banner ads, etc. and make it a classy website.

2. You have to offer value.

Start with giving away something free, like a report, in exchange for their opting in to your list. That’s your first chance to show off what you know and offer incredible value. You might argue that “free” doesn’t mean you have to give something valuable, but I disagree. How would it make you feel if a carpet cleaning company who wants your business came out and cleaned one of your rooms for free, and did a lousy job? Do you want to purchase from them? After they’re on your list, continue to send them free valuable info. Perhaps a well-researched article or short PDF will make them open their eyes to just how much information you know. The next product you produce and promote and over-deliver on will entice your “free” customers to become paying customers again and again.

3. You need traffic.

This can be tough obstacle for any new marketer to overcome. You can put together the most valuable, crazy, insane offer ever, but if no one knows about it, you won’t make those sales you’re dreaming of. Make a point of studying how to get traffic a priority. Research all the avenues of increasing your traffic and take action. Invest in a course if need be – it’s that important to get traffic. Of course it should be targeted traffic, not just any old traffic. You want people who are looking for what you’ve got; they’re more likely to turn into buyers. There are no guarantees that you will be wildly successful with internet marketing, but if you spending time on these three components, you stand a good chance of getting results you can be happy with.

Automatic Lead Generation!

By Dave · Comments (13)

A friend of mine has developed a system which can obtain you thousands of ‘live’ leads, push button style!

You will have the business name, telephone number and email addresses or any other type of information you would want. Think of the possibilities! Being able to market to thousands of businesses simultaneously!

I won’t talk to much about the mechanics of it, but this thing works, and I’ve seen the  results!

So, what can you do?

  • You can build a list within your target market, by using targeted keywords and the program builds a dictionary of tag words to ensure you get related results returned and you ca ask us to use the dictionary again in further searches
  • We will send you a sample of the leads and the total amount generated for you to “agree to send” then the program mails the generated targets with an email you create or, we can assist you with this. We then give you access to a landing page or you ca develop your own landing page so that people can find out more about you or contact you directly. Remember we comply to all the spamming rules and the program adheres strictly to this and returns statistics we can send to you too so that you can see who has read your mal, how fast and what they did after or, where they went.
  • Just wait for people to sign up for more information and boost your list numbers!

How simple is that? If you have any questions then just leave a comment and we’ll answer them!!

My Social Media Rant

By Dave · Comments (6)

I have been trying to make a living online for a few months now, and I am still not utilising one tool to its fullest potential! That is SOCIAL MEDIA!

It’s not that I don’t have many friends…it’s just that they aren’t people I want to talk to! That’s not me being nasty, it just frustrates me when I log into my Twitter account and all I can see is spam!

I admit, I have been there and done it myself. A few months ago, I bought a product on making money with Twitter, and in my newbie naivety, I started Auto DM’ing affiliate links, automated my Twitter posts with Twitter-feed, and just sent out random affiliate links!

What did I achieve? Absolutely nothing. My twitter homepage just looked horrendous. I hardly spoke to anybody, and didn’t use Twitter for what it was made for. People need to realise that it is SOCIAL MEDIA and not ‘GIVE ME YOUR MONEY MEDIA’.

I think Perry Belcher gives the best analogy on the subject, I’d try to come up with my own, but it would just sound lame!

He says that social media is like a party. You wouldn’t turn up to a party and start selling to people straight away, would you? What would happen if you did? I assume you would maybe get called a few names, and get told to leave.

What do you normally do at a party? You socialise, talk about sport, family…and maybe sometimes about your job! Once you get to know someone, you can then invite them back to your house (your blog) for a BBQ. Again, if someone came to your house and as soon as they came in, you tried to sell to them, they would probably leave straight away!

The key is to wait till you are on ‘the back porch’. This is where you can talk business, but again, don’t push the sale to hard, just do subtle things like have an op-tin box embedded in a post, so people know it’s there, but don’t feel like you are pushing it in their faces!

That is just a short summary of what the analogy he uses, which I think works really well!

So..I have made mistakes with social media in the past. I was chasing cash, which is something you shouldn’t do! BUT I have seen the error of my ways, and I am going to change!

What action am I taking? Well, it’s pretty extreme! As Twitter is the main social tool I use, I am un-following everybody, then re-following the people I want to interact with! I know this will result in my Twitter followers running away – if I don’t follow them, they won’t follow me, but why do I want people following me who have no interest in what I say? They just want another pair of eyes to read their affiliate links!

I know one of my friends, Matt Wolfe has done exactly the same as me, we decided to do it after we got onto the subject, and how annoying the spamming was!

Why don’t you join us in our quest to be social? You can use Twitter Karma to un-follow everybody, it makes things easier!

If you haven’t started using social media yet, then come and join the party, but remember, NO SELLING!

Rant over!

Product Creation Problems?

By Dave · Comments (10)

This is a topic some people are pretty scared of. Sitting down, and ACTUALLY creating your very own product.

I have a couple of tips for you if you are trying to create your own product, but have a bit of writers block.

I know how hard it is to get all the things you know down on paper, in a way that people will understand. I sometimes think that people won’t be interested in the things that I know. I suppose these feelings are natural, but they don’t help!

If you are having any problems getting things started then here are a couple of tips tips.

  1. Outsource it!

You can outsource your product creation. Just head over to one of these websites.

 www.elance.com

www.getafreelancer.com

www.odesk.com

I have used all 3, and have had good and bad results. The beauty is that if you aren’t happy, you don’t pay!

The way it works is that you post a project, and in this you write a summary of what you want. I recommend being as detailed as possible with this, so that you get EXACTLY what you ask for!

People will then ‘bid’ on your project, it’s kind of like the reverse of eBay! You will get a range of ‘bids’, but remember, the lowest bid won’t always be the best option. Check the person’s feedback and ask for samples of previous work. Once you find someone you are happy with, you award them the project. Now, don’t just leave them to it. Make sure you get updates on their progress. Get them to send you the work that they have done so far so that you can review it, this will make sure things run smoothly, and also save any issues when the product is completed.

I wouldn’t suggest just using the book produced as your finished product. You need to put your stamp on it. This can be as easy as telling your story, and putting your picture in it, this will brand YOU, and also people love to hear stories that they can relate to.

You will also need to get yourself some graphics. I recommend Michael Ottman at www.simpleecovers.com. He did my header, just check out his site!

  1. Blog Your Product

You might be wondering what this means. I think it’s a really handy tip and it kills 2 birds with one stone (not that it’s cool to kill birds).

All that you need for this is a blog, and to be able to convert a word document into PDF!

If you have a blog, then I’ll take a guess and presume you post to it! What you can do, is copy your blog posts into one document and turn it into a book.

So, plan to write say 10 posts on ‘Listbuilding’, for example, and write these over the course of a month (about one every four days). Just to show you how easy it is, your 10 posts could be:

  1. Why should you build a list?
  2. Auto-responders and what they do.
  3. What is a Squeeze page and how to set one up.
  4. Email marketing and what not to do!
  5. Building your list with giveaway events
  6. Building your list with ad swaps.
  7. Building your list with social media.
  8. Building your list with article marketing.
  9. Split testing.
  10. Building sub lists.

This is less daunting than sitting down and writing a full eBook. Once you have written them, just put all the content into one document! It’s as easy as that! You can obviously add screenshots to it if you like. This breaks up the text, as well as illustrates your written instructions, which people seem to prefer. This is a relatively easy task – but again, the images can just be added into the blog post, making the finished product all that more easy to produce!

It may require some editing so that the chapters flow correctly, but you could outsource this if you wanted – as well as get it proofread.

The benefits creating a product by blogging are:

  • The content is already there. All you need to do is copy and paste.
  • You have been providing quality content to your reader base.
  • Blog posts are easier to write, and take less time – plus, you have to post to your blog anyway!

You might be thinking it’s a problem posting this information for the world to see, and then packaging it up into a book, but not everyone who reads the book will read your blog, and everybody people will read ALL of your posts. Even if someone has done, I’m sure they won’t mind getting FREE quality content.

As with the first method, you will need to tell your story and get some graphics done!

So, don’t worry about creating a product, it sounds harder than it actually is!
